In fourteen hundred ninety-twoColumbus sailed the ocean blue.
He had three ships and left from Spain; He sailed thru sunshine, wind and rain.
He sailed via night; he sailed by means of day;He used the stars to seek out his method.
A compass also helped him knowHow to find the option to move.
Ninety sailors were on board; Some males labored whilst others snored.
Then the workers went to sleep; And others watched the ocean deep.
Day after day they seemed for land; They dreamed of trees and rocks and sand.
October 12 their dream got here true,You never saw a happier team!
"Indians! Indians!" Columbus cried; His center was once full of pleased delight.
But "India" the land used to be no longer; It was once the Bahamas, and it was sizzling.
The Arakawa natives have been really nice; They gave the sailors meals and spice.
Columbus sailed on to search out some goldTo convey back home, as he'd been advised.
He made the trip over and over again,Trading gold to convey to Spain.
The first American? No, no longer relatively. But Columbus was once brave, and he used to be shiny.
